
Kristen Blais for Colonie Town Board
Kristen Blais is a mother of four, wife of a Colonie police officer, military veteran, and business owner. From a very young age Kristen discovered her passion for business development, community engagement and advocacy.
In 2007, she joined the Air National Guard as a Medical Technician where she went on to fulfill 12 years of service. During her time in the service, she was afforded opportunities that would assist in her individual growth and as a business owner. While Kristen enlisted as a Medical Technician, she thrived in various positions to included Assistant Comptroller, Budget Analyst and Criminal Analyst. Each of these assignments assisted in her future growth as a business owner.
In 2017, Kristen started an in-home daycare where she quickly recognized the need for childcare in the area. In 2019, she began construction on a daycare center that would go on to care for more than 130 children and employee over 30 staff members. Since opening her center, she has advocated for the children during COVID’s mask mandate and has been recognized by the Times Union as having one of the top daycare/preschools in the Capital Region.
Kristen continues to be an advocate for the members in her community by supporting the local little league, community events and school sponsorships. She has spent time coaching youth sports, has served as a Treasurer with the Parent Teacher Association, and organized numerous fundraising opportunities for youth organizations.
Alongside Kristen’s development she also owns multiple rental properties throughout the Capital Region. She continues to explore opportunities to advance in her real estate endeavors and aspires to open a second daycare center.
